Mumbai market witnessed sluggish demand for cotton yarn. Mills and stockists are avoiding cutting their selling rates, though some are offering discounts to potential buyers on a case-by-case basis. A trader from Mumbai told Fibre2Fashion, “Garment export demand from the US may be affected due to higher tariffs announced by President Donald Trump. Domestic demand is also poor despite the beginning of the festival season. Cotton yarn demand should ideally pick up before the peak festival period.”

In Mumbai, ** carded yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) and &#****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (~$**.**-**.**) (excluding GST), respectively.
