  • Dow's Propylene Glycol (PG) facility in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, has earned ISCC PLUS certification, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
  • The certification supports two new PG products: Propylene Glycol CIR (with recycled material) and Propylene Glycol REN (bio-circular technology).
  • This milestone strengthens Dow's sustainable PG portfolio across Asia Pacific and beyond.

Dow (NYSE: DOW) is proud to announce that its Propylene Glycol (PG) manufacturing facility in Map Ta Phut, Rayong, Thailand, has earned the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS. This certification reinforces Dow’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable production and offering circular and bio-circular products to customers in the Asia Pacific region.

Supporting more sustainable offerings in the PG portfolio

Applying innovative technologies, two new sustainable PG products will be available in Asia Pacific and certified by ISCC PLUS through mass balance:

  • Propylene Glycol CIR featuring Renuva recycled material helps customers close the loop and process hard-to-recycle post-consumer and post-industrial waste into sustainable feedstocks,
  • Propylene Glycol REN featuring Ecolibrium bio-circular technology enables a reduction in the use of fossil fuel-based feedstocks.

The new PG offerings are designed to help customers reach their circular and sustainability goals and are suitable for a broad range of applications across industries including personal care, pharmaceutical, food ingredients, flavorings and fragrances.

“Achieving ISCC PLUS certification marks another significant milestone for the Map Ta Phut PG facility,” said Heidi Xu, Asia Pacific commercial director, Dow Polyurethanes. “This certification empowers Dow to deliver verifiably circular or bio-circular solutions to customers in Asia Pacific, while still ensuring premium quality without compromise. This milestone strengthens our ability to support customers’ sustainability targets and, in collaboration with value chain partners, advances the circular economy while driving positive environmental impact across diverse industries.”

This achievement expands Dow’s portfolio of sustainable PG solutions across North America, Europe, Latin America, and now Asia Pacific.

“At Dow, we are proud to offer more sustainable PG products in every region,” said Vincent Lacoste, Dow global business director for CAV and POPG. “This reinforces our global leadership in sustainable production and the Company’s commitment to driving a low-carbon, circular future.”

Following the recent capacity expansion and ISCC PLUS certification at the Map Ta Phut PG facility, Dow Thailand is now recognized as a leading supplier of sustainable PG products in the region.

“Following our 2024 expansion, which made Dow Thailand’s PG plant the largest in Asia, the ISCC Plus certification highlights our operational excellence and adds a more sustainable aspect to our achievements,” said Vichan Tangkengsirisin, Dow Thailand president. “This world-class manufacturing facility, based in Thailand, is now in its best position to serve customers both locally and regionally.”

ISCC is a world leading international certification standard for fully traceable and environmentally, socially and economically sustainable supply chains. As Dow continues to manufacture products with circular and bio-circular feedstocks, this verification qualifies the tracking of alternative feedstocks through the mass balance approach.
