Europe remains fragmented due to varying recycling mandates, with only 65 per cent compliance in some regions.
Asia, led by China, is expanding investments in mechanical and chemical recycling facilities, targeting a 25 per cent recycled polymer content by 2030.
In contrast, the US has less stringent rules, but its demand for recycled content is steadily increasing. In the US, recycled polymer production rose 5 per cent YoY in the third quarter (Q3) of 2024, driven by demand in packaging.
