Abercrombie & Fitch reports 2% rise in store sales

Abercrombie & Fitch reported net sales of $293.2 million for the five-week period ended July 7, 2007, a 21% increase over net sales of $243.0 million for the five-week period ended July 1, 2006.
June comparable store sales increased 2% for the five-week period ended July 7, 2007, compared to the five-week period ended July 8, 2006.
Total Company direct-to-consumer net sales increased 79% to $16.7 million for the five-week period ended July 7, 2007, compared to the five-week period ended July 1, 2006.
Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of 15% to $1.251 billion from $1.086 billion last year. Comparable store sales decreased 3% for the year-to-date period. Year-to-date, total Company direct-to-consumer net sales increased 51% to $73.1 million.

The Company operates three Abercrombie & Fitch stores and three Hollister Co. storesin Canada, and one Abercrombie & Fitch store in London, England.
