David Rodriguez to launch debut ready-to-wear fashion line

Multichannel retailer HSN announced that designer David Rodriguez, a favorite among fashionistas, will launch his first-ever ready-to-wear collection exclusively on HSN and on August 21, 2007.

“Fleur By David Rodriguez” will be one of the key collections being presented to HSN viewers during the network's Fall Fashion Week, which runs from August 18-24.

Well-known among Hollywood celebrities and on the sets of such fashion-setting TV series and feature films as Sex and the City, Friends, and The Devil Wears Prada, Mr. Rodriguez has long desired to create a ready-to-wear collection that emulated his couture quality and style but at price points accessible to everyone.

“'Fleur' is a natural extension of my couture collection,” said Mr. Rodriguez. “All women love beautiful clothes but couture isn't for everyone. With “Fleur,” I was able to take the same design concepts and translate them into gorgeous clothes for any woman who desires classic styling with a little flare, fit, and quality.”

He continued, “I'm especially excited to bring “Fleur” to HSN's customers. One of my favorite parts when designing couture pieces is the chance to work one-on-one with clients. On HSN, I'll be able to replicate that intimacy by being able to talk directly to the audience when describing my line.”

A contemporary sportswear line of woven and knit pieces, “Fleur By David Rodriguez” includes sweaters, jackets and blazers, skirts, and Mr. Rodriguez's signature “revolutionary trouser” with the hidden expandable waistband.
