Gemspring Capital Management, LLC, a leading private equity firm specialising in middle-market investments, has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the polymer chemicals business of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, known as Goodyear Chemical.

The transaction includes two key manufacturing facilities in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, as well as a research and development center in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear will retain its chemical facilities located in Niagara Falls, New York, and Bayport, Texas, along with associated product rights.

Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear Chemical is a premier producer of synthetic rubber and advanced polymer materials. Its portfolio supports a wide range of global industries, including tire manufacturing, automotive, medical, packaging, construction, sporting goods, and industrial adhesives.
