Last year, Sophie Scheible from the French-speaking part of Switzerland won the award and became a grant holder with Antonio Berardi in Milan. Berardi has been delighted with the young designer's work and she will most probably be recruited as a permanent member of staff with the prestigious designer.
This year, the prize will be presented by the German designer, Wolfgang Joop. The winner, chosen from more than forty applicants and five selected finalists, will have an opportunity to work in Wolfgang Joop's team at “Wunderkind” in Berlin next year.
The grand evening gala and prize award ceremony on 26 November 2006 will be marked by a special issue of annabelle which will be attached to the annabelle number dated 9 November 2005 and the Sonntagszeitung of 13 November 2005.
