The Society's Gold medal was presented to Prof W. B. Achwal for “meritorious services in the field of colour education and colour related sciences”. a Silver Medal was presented to Mr. Ullhas Manohar Nimkar for “continuing contributions to the development of the society in India”, and Bronze medals were presented to Dr.Sanjiv Y Kamat and to Shri. Rakesh Sachdev for “enthusiastic services to Society in Mumbai.”
The Gold Medal of SDC Vice Presidentship was handed over to incoming Vice President India Dr. Sanjiv Kamat by the outgoing Vice President Mr. Ullhas M Nimkar.
The Society's Fellowships FSDC were awarded to Dr. Kishore Agnihotri, Dr. N. Sekar, Dr. N. Sekar, Shri. Vilas Gupte and Shri. Anil Mehra.
Ms. Dipali Goenka, Director, Welspun Retail Ltd, as Chief Guest, delivered a highly inspiring and informative Key note address on Innovations and Retail. Addressing the gathering Ms. Goenka informed, Innovation, like many business functions, is a management process that requires specific tools, rules, and discipline.
She also spoke about the Air Rich fibers, Innovations in performance fibers etc., and she concluded with the message that there is a need to translate the acceptable innovations for the complete consumer reach.
