Italy has emerged as the 3rd largest market for Indian exports in the EU after Germany and U.K. The Indian exports has registered a continuous growth since 1992.
Fabrics, Made-ups, Floor Coverings, garments, yarns etc. remained the largest sector of India's export to Italy and registered an increase of over 90% India's exports to Italy. Italy has a highly booming economy wherein incomes are rising fast.
The overall increase in demand is largely being met through increased imports thereby creating greater prospects for foreign goods.
Handloom fabrics, made-ups and furnishings also hold good promise and potential for increasing our exports. A more serious marketing effort, quality consciousness and regular participation in Italian exhibitions and fairs of these items will go a long way in promoting our products.
Considering the importance of this market, HEPC proposes to participate in MACEF Autumn Fair to be held at Milan, Italy from 7-10th September'07.
Macef Autumn Fair is a leading show for the home. The exhibition covers products ranging from Hometextiles and decorations, Tableware, Kitchenware, Silverware, Gift items etc.
This fair will be organized under the grant-in-aid scheme of HES of the Development Commissioner of Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles.
