The inaugural day of the fair was marked by the Gala Inaugural Dinner and Launch Party, held at the Ball Room of the Grand Hyatt for the grand launch of the international trends showcase publication, Fashion Forecast, brought out by the International Colour Authority, UK. It was launched in style to the Call of the Valley, the lilting classical music of Padmashri Pandit Satish Vyas, which regaled the audience with his 100-stringed santoor, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee with the tabla and Bhawani Shankar on the Pakhawaj. Renowned fashion designer Shaina N C was guest of honour for the evening. Mr Stephen Higginson, Editor and Creative Director, International Textiles, UK, was part of the launch, amidst highly select gathering of Who's Who of the textiles industry.
